EARL DETRICK 

Earl Detrick, better known as DeeSmuve is well-known for his intricate delivery soulful of Hip-Hop motivation.  He was introduced to music when he was only 5 years. He joined the marching band under the direction of his father, Arthur Earl Simpson. He eventually became a junior drum major at 7 years old.  "Detrick" still holds the title as the youngest musician to ever play in the Grambling High School’s marching band.

 

Consequently, Earl Detrick attended Grambling State University on a full band scholarship. He traveled the country and performed with the World Famed Marching Band.   He garnered a wealth of  memorable experiences as a member of the band including an appearance in the hit Box office film Drumline, a Fox Network Commercial, a State of Louisiana visitor’s commercial, a college band series on Wheel of Fortune, and a momentous performance at President George W. Bush’s inauguration in Washington, DC.

 

 

(DeeSmuve) was signed as an artist and producer at Plateau Records in 2004, a local record label located on the campus of Grambling State University. He performed at most of talent shows and festivals that were hosted by the university.  He produced all of the music for the artists Plateau Records.   After leaving Plateau Records, (DeeSmuve) resumed working as an independent artist. He has recorded more than 20 albums for himself and other artists.  Over the span of his career, he has done opening performances for Grammy and BET award-winning artists such as Monica, Lalah Hathaway, Stokely Williams, Trey Songs, 90’s R&B group Profyle, Hip Hop Soul artists Nivea, Raheem Davaughn and Tucka to name a few.   Earl Detrick has produced music for independent films, tv, stage plays, and he has even displayed his range as an actor in the web series " For My Child".

 

Heavily influenced by music legends like Miles Davis, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye and many more, "Detrick's" music is classy, mature and diverse. His live instruments of choice are Jazz trumpet and bass guitar.  He croons with a soulfully eccentric voice that’s combined with profound lyrical dexterity. DeeSmuve’s music production company is notorious for creating a sound that he likes to call Hip-Hop SoulUtions. Hip-Hop SoulUtions was devised with an effort to relate to normal people with normal lives and their issues by creating melodies of musical therapy.
